Food Waste Recycling

Solution For Everyone

Stop Wasting. Start Saving.

It’s no secret that regular composting is not a fast process and involves plenty of labor to reach the desired result.

Hot turn compost bins take up to 20 days, black soldier fly compost bins take 3 weeks, a worm compost bin takes between 1-3 months and a slow no turn compost bin takes between 3-12 months.

That’s why we invented a kitchen composting bin that can transform your dinner into potent, organic fertiliser for your garden in just 3 hours!

Stop wasting and start saving like the thousands of other American’s that have purchased the FoodCycler.

Our system uses a special formula of activated carbon to keep the naturally potent smells of food waste contained, and your space free from its lingering odour.

Instead of throwing away hundreds of dollars of food every year, turn your food waste into natural soil amendment for your garden. What you don’t eat can be used to grow something you will!

Push a button, and create a safe & natural soil or lawn amendment. It’s a simple solution to the serious problem of food waste, and its ease-of-use makes it even easier to love.

Lightweight, odourless, and compact, the FoodCycler™ can be used anywhere - not just the kitchen. Put it where you have room, and let it effectively and discreetly work it’s magic.

In less time than it takes to defrost a chicken, you can turn food scraps into sterile and safe soil amendment. Transform your dinner into potent, organic fertilizer for your garden before bedtime!

Using less electricity than a small microwave oven, our units feature sensory technology that ensures energy is used efficiently, and minimally. It's part of our commitment to eco-driven technology.

FoodCycler Users Love Their Machine

What CAN the FoodCycler process?

  • Meat, fish, shellfish and poultry scraps
  • Most fruit and vegetable scraps
  • Cereals and grains
  • Cheese
  • Beans, seeds and legumes
  • Chicken and fish bones
  • Coffee grounds, filters and tea bags
  • Eggs and eggshells
  • Pet food

What CAN'T the FoodCycler process?

  • Hard bones such as beef bones and pig bones
  • Candy or gum
  • Cooking oils or greases
  • Hard pits (peaches, apricots, nectarines)
  • Nuts and other hard shells
  • Pineapple leaves

In limited quantities...

Also, when processing cake, rice, starches, pasta, high sugar fruits (grapes, bananas, melon, oranges, pineapple), sauces, jams, jellies, peanut butter or fatty food waste, be sure to mix them with other food waste. If these types of food waste are processed without mixing, there's a chance that the end product can become stuck to the bottom of the bucket, and not processed entirely. If your end product comes out less than optimal, simply add more food waste and start the cycle again.

What is the cost of electricity?

The max draw on the Food Cycler is 500W. Each cycle consumes approximately 0.8kwh. The FoodCycler has built-in sensory technology that monitors the dryness and humidity of the food waste. Once complete, the unit will end its cycle automatically.

What is the FoodCycler's processing capacity?

The residential FoodCycler's processing capacity is approximately 2-3 pounds. Use the indicator line on the inside of the waste bucket as a guide.

What is the FoodCycler's processing time?

The FoodCycler takes anywhere from 2-6 hours (average 2.5 - 3.5 hours) for the food waste disposal process to completely dehydrate into its composted state. The processing time will depend on the amount you're trying to process. Please note these estimates exclude the unit's cooling time.

Can the FoodCycler process bones?

The unit can process bones from chicken and fish in limited quantities, however bigger bones like beef or pig bones cannot be processed in your unit. Hard or dense food waste can wear down the inside coating of the unit's bucket, decreasing the lifespan of your unit. However, the FoodCycler's bucket is made of cast iron and is designed to last for many years under normal use.

Why isn't the end product in powder form?

The form of the by-product appears differently depending on the type of food waste being processed. Fish or cooked vegetables appear as fine powder form, and uncooked vegetables appear in a small cereal-like form. Cake, rice, and starches will have a thicker, chunkier texture.

What’s the cooling function?

After the pulverization and drying phase is complete, the FoodCycler enters the cooling phase. During this time, it consumes little power, but the unit will be hot until it is fully cooled, so do not open the lid until the entire cooling phase is complete.

Can I add food to the FoodCycler once I've already started a cycle?

You can, but you shouldn’t. Adding additional food waste to the unit during the cycle prevents the unit from generating 100% dehydrated compost. If you must add more waste, you will need to restart the cycle.

Can I open the lid on the FoodCycler during the process to see what's going on?

No. The lid should be locked after starting the system to prevent the cycle from being prematurely or improperly finished.

Is it okay to empty the bucket as soon as the timer says the FoodCycler is done?

No. It is always best to let the FoodCycler complete its cool down cycle which is designed to prepare the compost for handling.

Why is my FoodCycler emitting an odor?

The unit may emit an odor if you have not properly installed the filters at the back of the machine, or if the filters have not been replaced as directed. (About every 3 months.) Also, be sure to remove the sticker on the filters prior to use.

Can I put my FoodCycler in the dishwasher?

Definitely. The removable waste bucket is dishwasher-friendly.

Can I use the end product in my garden?

Absolutely! For best results, we recommend letting the by-product sit for a period of at least one week after it has finished being cycled, then mixing it in with your garden soil at a ratio of 1 part Foodilizer: 11 parts soil. Further, the healthier your food waste, the healthier your garden! Foods high in fat, oil, sodium or sugar may not produce optimal results. If you do not have a garden handy, but have a compost pile, the by-product can be added directly to your compost bin! The by-product is also completely harmless for the environment, and will not stink up your trash can if added to your weekly garbage, as it has been stripped of all methane emissions and bacteria.

What happens to the methane gasses?

Due to the aerobic digestion process, there are no methane gasses created during the process. Any C02 emissions created throughout the process are captured by the carbon filters built into the unit.

What are the FoodCycler's dimensions?

The FoodCycler is (W) 16" x (L) 14" x (H) 18.5 " and is 30 lbs in the box and (W) 12.5 “ x (L) 11” x (H) 13” & 24 lbs out of the box.
